Definition

Degree of invalidity as a percentage. Admissible values: 0-100.

The degree of invalidity reflects the insured persion's wage losses as result of the injury.

It determines:

1. the amount of the work incapacity pension and the BVG [Federal Law on the Occupational, Old-age, Survivors' and Disability Benefit Fund] pension
2. the contribution, which, as an invalidity benefit, compensates for the loss of contributions to old-age credit.
3. the minimum decisive wage.
