Definition
A payroll unit is a grouping of employees according to certain organizational criteria relative to the subapplication of payroll.
Depending on the subapplication, the payroll unit is used for various functions. For example, it is used to ensure the same processing of employees for payroll (AHV/ALV, UVG), to produce the same output in the evaluation report (AHV/ALV, UVG, ASM, BFS) or to control the proposal of the same default values for infotypes (FAK, LAW).
Features are used to group the employees in the different payroll units. The features allow the grouping of employees according to various organizational criteria.
Feature CHFI1 determines the employee grouping for the application key UVG.
With the payroll unit UVG you determine which contribution rates are valid for BU [industrial accident] and NBU [non-industrial accident]. Generally, the same contribution rates apply for all employees of a payroll unit.
The UVG [accident insurance law] annual calculation is sorted for each company code according to the payroll unit. The payroll unit address stored in view V_T536A is printed in the list heading.
