Definition
A payroll unit is a grouping of employees according to certain organizational criteria relative to the subapplication of payroll.
Depending on the subapplication, the payroll unit is used for various functions. For example, it is used to ensure the same processing of employees for payroll (AHV/ALV, UVG), to produce the same output in the evaluation report (AHV/ALV, UVG, ASM, BFS) or to control the proposal of the same default values for infotypes (FAK, LAW).
Features are used to group the employees in the different payroll units. The features allow the grouping of employees according to various organizational criteria.
Feature CHF17 determines the employee grouping for the application key QST.
You assign the withholding tax account number to the payroll unit with the application key QST.
You receive this number from the cantonal tax administration. It appears in the withholding tax accounting and on the withholding tax statements for the cantons Genf and Waadt.
The payroll unit address and the name of the person responsible appear on the withholding tax statement.
