Definition

A payroll unit is a grouping of employees according to certain organizational criteria relative to the subapplication of payroll.

Depending on the subapplication, the payroll unit is used for various functions. For example, it is used to ensure the same processing of employees for payroll (AHV/ALV, UVG), to produce the same output in the evaluation report (AHV/ALV, UVG, ASM, BFS) or to control the proposal of the same default values for infotypes (FAK, LAW).

Features are used to group the employees in the different payroll units. The features allow the grouping of employees according to various organizational criteria.

The feature CHFI2 determines the employee grouping for the application key UVG [Accident Insurance Law].

With the payroll unit FAK [Family Equalization Fund] you control the calculation of family-related bonuses. Thus, you determine which cantonal or internal company FAK calculation rule applies. The same calculation conditions are valid for all employees of a payroll unit.
