Definition
A payroll unit is a grouping of employees according to certain organizational criteria relative to the subapplication of payroll.
Depending on the subapplication, the payroll unit is used for various functions. For example, it is used to ensure the same processing of employees for payroll (AHV/ALV, UVG), to produce the same output in the evaluation report (AHV/ALV, UVG, ASM, BFS) or to control the proposal of the same default values for infotypes (FAK, LAW).
Features are used to group the employees in the different payroll units. The features allow the grouping of employees according to various organizational criteria.
Feature CHFIZ determines the employee grouping for application key CUS3.
With the payroll unit CUS3 you control whether deductions for insurance should be calculated and which contribution rates apply.
Generally, the same contribution rates are valid for all employees of a payroll unit.
The annual calculation for insurances is sorted for each company code according to the payroll unit. The payroll unit address stored in view V_T536A ist printed in the list heading.
