Definition
A payroll unit is a grouping of employees according to certain organizational criteria relative to the subapplication of payroll.
Depending on the subapplication, the payroll unit is used for various functions. For example, it is used to ensure the same processing of employees for payroll (AHV/ALV, UVG), to produce the same output in the evaluation report (AHV/ALV, UVG, ASM, BFS) or to control the proposal of the same default values for infotypes (FAK, LAW).
Features are used to group the employees in the different payroll units. The features allow the grouping of employees according to various organizational criteria.
For the application key BVG, the employees are grouped using the feature CHFIM.
You use the payroll unit BVG to specify with which BVG code for which BVG insurance the payroll unit is assigned. Different payroll units with different BVG codes can exist for each insurance.
Usually the same BVG code applies to the employees of a payroll unit.
