Definition
A payroll unit is a grouping of employees according to certain organizational criteria relative to the subapplication of payroll.
Depending on the subapplication, the payroll unit is used for various functions. For example, it is used to ensure the same processing of employees for payroll (AHV/ALV, UVG), to produce the same output in the evaluation report (AHV/ALV, UVG, ASM, BFS) or to control the proposal of the same default values for infotypes (FAK, LAW).
Features are used to group the employees in the different payroll units. The features allow the grouping of employees according to various organizational criteria.
Maintain the contact person, his or her telephone number, the BUR Number [Posting and Registration Number], and the BESTA Number [Employment Statistic Number] for the payroll unit BFS [Federal Office on Statistics].
