Contains the pension insurance number (PI number) of the employee

Use

The PI number takes the form aaddmmyybssc:

• aa is the area number of the insurance agency.
• ddmmyy is the date of birth.
• b is the first letter of the last name at birth.
• ss is a sequential number.
• c is a check digit.

The PI number is assigned by the German Pension Insurance Association (Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund).

The insurance number is to be checked in accordance with DEÜV Para. 1.3.2.2.
