Definition
Attributes are inherited according to the evaluation path you enter. The inheritance type can have the following values:
- ' ': Normal inheritance (additive)
All hierarchically superior (according to the evaluation path) organizational objects are gathered and taken into account in addition to the local maintained values.
If the attribute has not been defined as having multiple values, this setting is not meaningful, as only one value is permitted per attribute. In this case, the inheritance takes place as in case '0', exactly as for excluded values.
- 'O': Local values overwrite inherited values
Attributes are gathered along the evaluation path and inherited, only if no values have been maintained for the organizational object. Local values overwrite inherited values.
- 'N': No inheritance
This deactivates inheritance completely.
- 'I': No local redefinition of inherited values
If this value is set, the maintenance interface does not allow you to redefine an attribute if a value has already been maintained for a superior (according to the evaluation path) organizational object.
If a value is maintained for an attribute for a hierarchically superior object, a consistency check must take place, to see whether this value will be redefined by data for subordinate objects. These values must then be deleted so that they are consistent.
