Definition
The week beginning the Sunday before or on the expected day of childbirth is referred to as the expected week of childbirth (EWC). Enter here the number of weeks before the EWC that the qualifying week falls. The qualifying week serves to calculate whether an employee is eligible to receive Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) or not.
