Documentation
Definition
The flag determines whether the number intervals to be assigned are to be buffered in a "local" file.
Use
The (partial) number intervals are managed in an extra file.
With the buffering method 'Local file', the server name forms part of the key.
With extended local buffering 'Local file with work process ID', the work process ID is also in the key, in addition to the server name. A separate number package is buffered in the local file for every work process on each server. This enables database locks to be almost completely avoided.
If the partial number intervals in the "local" file are exhausted, more numbers are fetched from the database. The database status is incremented by the number of numbers fetched into the "local" file.
Procedure
Examples
Dependencies
Numbers are not assigned in chronological order. The gaps (or not-assigned numbers) can be found by an analysis report.
