Definition

The node function determines the position of a node within the structure, which means how a node belongs to a particular subtree.

The node function is a required field and is automatically passed on to the subnodes when you create them.

Supported functions:

  • A = Administrative task
  • D = Development and Customizing Activity
  • I = Installation task
  • U = Upgrade task
  • T = Technical information
  • S = System specification
  • C = Customizing task
  • P = Application task

SAP uses the functions A, D, I, U, S and T.
In customer systems, you can also use the functions C and P.
