Definition

The following services of the application server are available:

  • Dialog: The application server has dialog processes, that is, online processing is available.
  • Enqueue: The application server is the lock server.
  • Update: The application server has V1 update processes, that is, it can execute (time-critical) V1 updates.
  • Upd2: The application server has V2 update processes, that is, it can execute (non-time-critical) V2 updates.
  • Batch: The application server has batch processes, that is, it can run background jobs.
  • Spool: The application server has spool processes, that is, it can execute print formatting.
  • ICM: The Internet Communication Manager is active, that is, connections from or to the Internet can be made. For further information, see transaction SMICM.
  • VMC: The Virtual Machine Container is active, which means that the ABAP VM as well as the JAVA VM is available in the work process.
  • J2EE: The SAP J2EE Engine is available for this server.
