Definition
Specifies the movement type that the system uses to post an immediate goods receipt to free available stock in Advanced Returns Management. The movement type specifies the stock type of the free available stock.
Use
When you select the follow-up activity Immediately Move to Free Available Stock for a returns order item, the system automatically posts a goods receipt to free available stock. This goods receipt is based on an automatically created returns delivery.
Usually, the system uses the movement type that is specified in the schedule line category of a returns order item to post the goods receipt for a returns delivery. However, for an immediate goods receipt to free available stock, the system uses the movement type specified here instead.
The movement type also defines the target stock type for the goods receipt. This means that the movement type in the schedule line category defines the default stock type for the stock of returned materials, and the movement type specified here defines the stock type for free available stock.
Dependencies
You can also configure a special storage location for immediate goods receipt postings to free available stock.
Example
Returned goods are to be posted to blocked stock by default. Therefore, you specify movement type 657 in the Movement Type field of the schedule line category.
For follow-up activity Immediately Move to Free Available Stock, the goods are to be posted to unrestricted-use stock. Therefore, you specify movement type 653 as the Movement Type for Goods Receipt into Free Available Stock.
