Definition

The mode controls whether business event planning is to occur in
dialog or in background mode, where
1 = Dialog mode
2 = Background mode

In the dialog mode you can control planning explicitly, which
means that the following screens appear one after another:
- to choose between the main and the alternative schedule
- to schedule the business event with fixed dates
- to select from the resources available

In the background mode the system makes all decisions itself,
i.e. without you actively taking part. A message then appears
directly afterwards informing you that the business event has been
created and on what dates. The only exception to this order
of background processing is if the business event cannot be scheduled
for any dates because all required resources are not avail-
able at any one time, then the system automatically switches
to the dialog mode to allow you to decide when the business
event should take place and which resources should be linked.
