Definition
The material number for which an original batch is created is determined as follows:
- The number is the material number from the production order, or from the purchase order item if no original batch reference material has been maintained for this material in the material master.
- If an original batch reference material has been set in the material master, the original batch is created for this material. The reference material must not be valued. You can specify the reference material at plant level in the production versions.
If you set both fields, the production version takes precedence as the origin.
Only non-valued materials can be used as a reference material. To this end, the system checks that values are not updated for the relevant material type in Customizing (Transaction OMS2 - Table T134M).
