Definition
Enables or disables the handler (runtime component). By disabling the handler, you disable synchronization.
Procedure
If an emergency situation occurs in a productive system, it may be necessary to disable the handler and prevent the mobile devices from synchronizing with the server.
If you disable the handler, the incoming requests from all mobile devices are saved in the Smart Synchronization inbox, but are not processed (status: I-Waiting). Requests in the outbox that were already processed are sent to the client. When you re-enable the handler, the messages in the inbox are processed when either:
- The merep_retry_BP job is run.
- The handler is manually triggered by the administrator using the transaction merep_mon.
