Documentation
Definition
Globally unique identifier of a physical device that is registered in the SAP MI Server Component. The GUID is only generated in the SAP MI Server Component for the first connection from a newly deployed mobile device. It is then stored on the local client.
Procedure
The device GUID identifies a physical device, independent of the users or applications on that device. This GUID allows the server to distinguish between the physical devices during synchronization. As a result, it is possible to handle multiple users working with different data on a single application on a single device as well as a single user working on multiple distinct devices.
A device is assigned a new GUID when the SAP Mobile Infrastructure is deployed for the first time to a given device. A device already in use receives a new device GUID when the SAP Mobile Infrastructure is uninstalled and re-installed.
