Documentation

Definition

Causes the system to adopt the default values maintained in the Personal Settings in the purchase order that is to be created.

Use

If you set the indicator, the default values maintained here are adopted in the new purchase order even if the system might be able to determine other default values (e.g. from a reference document). That is to say, the values maintained here take priority.

If you do not set the indicator but have maintained default values in your Personal Settings, these values are considered only if the system cannot determine any other default values (e.g. from a reference document, contract, info record etc.)

Dependencies

Example

Maintain Default Value for Plant

The following cases are possible:

  • You have maintained plant 0001 in your Personal Settings and have set the Always Propose indicator.
You want to convert a purchase requisition for plant 0002 into a purchase order.

    Result
Plant 0001 is adopted in the purchase order from your Personal Settings.

  • You have maintained plant 0001 in your Personal Settings and have not set the Always Propose indicator.
You want to convert a purchase requisition for plant 0002 into a purchase order.

    Result
Plant 0002 from the purchase requisition is adopted in the purchase order
The system ignores plant 0001 that you entered in your Personal Settings.

Maintain Default Value for Acknowledgment Requirement

The following cases are possible:

Always Propose indicator set

  • You have set the Always Propose and Acknowledgment Required indicators.
When you create a PO with reference to a contract, the Acknowledgment Required indicator is always set in the PO. That is to say, the system ignores the default value in the contract and adopts the default value from your Personal Settings.
  • You have set the Always Propose indicator and have not set the Acknowledgment Required indicator.
When you create a PO with reference to a contract, the Acknowledgment Required indicator is not set in the purchase order even if the contract contains an acknowledgment requirement.

Always Propose indicator not set

  • You have not set Always Propose and have not set Acknowledgment Required.
When you create a PO with reference to a contract, the system adopts any default values from the contract, a reference document, or an info record in the purchase order.
  • You have not set Always Propose but have set Acknowledgment Required.
When you create a PO with reference to a contract, the Acknowledgment Required indicator in the purchase order is:
    • Set if the system was unable to determine a reference document, contract, or info record
    • Set if the Acknowledgment Required indicator has been set in the contract
    • Not set if the Acknowledgment Required indicator has not been set in the contract
