Documentation
Definition
You can select three different folder options for the SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC):
- Link Collection
Indicates that the folder and its entries are displayed below the NWBC shell navigation tree on the left as a set of links that are related in content. Typical names for link collections are "More Information" or "Other Services".
Note that link collections are always displayed in the navigation panel on the left of the NWBC shell for the selected folder. If an end user clicks an entry in a link collection, the contents are always displayed in a new window.
- As a Service Map
A service map shows an overview of a navigation structure with the entries of the next navigational level in the navigation tree, which provides the end user with a better overview of the business process that is represented by the folder.
You can also assign specific icons for a service map. More information: Service Map Icon.
- Menu
Indicator that the folder is displayed with its entries as a separate menu entry at the top shell level of the NWBC.
The menu is always visible and available in the NWBC, regardless of the application that is called in the canvas.
You can define multiple menu folders for a role. Note, however, that menu folders are only available for root folders. This means that a user can start a transaction without having to select it using the navigation tree.
The folder text is either a user-defined text that is used as the text for the menu entry in the NWBC, or you use predefined IDs. The system merges entries with predefined IDs with the corresponding existing menus.
You can use the following predefined IDs:
- @SEARCH@
- Integration of an additional search engine.
- @HELP@
- Integration of an additional URL for help links, such as internal company help pages.
- @PERSONALIZE@
- Integration of an additional entry for the Favorites menu.
- Side Panel
Indicator that the folder and its entries are displayed in the canvas as entries with related content. The entries are displayed as side-panel entries for each entry in the parent folder.
Note that this indicator is only evaluated if the NWBC shell is actually able to evaluate this information. This is the case in newer versions of the shell.
