Definition

In the SAP system the term "aggregate" is used to describe the union of one or more tables to form a logical object. When you set up an aggregate, you first need to define a primary table to which further tables, which are linked to the primary table by means of foreign key relationships, can be added. These additional tables are referred to as secondary tables.

Views, matchcode objects and lock objects are defined in the ABAP Dictionary as special aggregates.
