Documentation
Definition
Indicates the logical name of the business system that is linked to the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
Use
The information is needed if you want to designate storage locations as production storage locations that are administered by an MES. Goods movements involving these storage locations can be distributed via the Data Replication Framework (DRF) to the MES. The system can determine whether or not a stock posting is relevant to a particular MES from the assignment of the business system defined in the DRF to the storage location.
Dependencies
Before you assign the business system to the storage location, maintain a replication model for the data replication. In this model, define the business objects relevant to the MES and define the business system corresponding to the MES. The message INVCON is provided for the integration of inventory management. This message is replicated via the business object 467.
Example
Production in plant 1000 of your enterprise is supported by an MES. You wish to link storage location 0001 of this plant to the MES as a production storage location. The MES is to be informed about certain goods movements involving the production storage location 0001.
First define the replication model in the Implementation Guide and include the business object 467 in this model. Then assign the business system you maintained in the replication model to storage location 0001 of plant 1000. Finally, maintain the filter criteria of your replication model.
The system then sends material documents in accordance with the filter criteria maintained in the DRF but prevents a goods movement for storage location 0001 triggered from the MES from being redistributed to this system. Furthermore, on the basis of this assignment, the system can exclude certain goods movements to this storage location that are not supported by the MES,
