Definition

Date that the MAT B1 (maternity certificate) was issued to the employee by a doctor or midwife.

If the MAT B1 form was signed more than 20 weeks before the week in which the baby is due to be born (Expected Week of Confinement/Childbirth), it cannot be accepted for Statutory Maternity Leave entitlement.

Note: In some cases an earlier MAT B1 issue date may be accepted:

• If a baby is born alive before the 25th week of the pregnancy
• In the case of a stillbirth, but only if the stillbirth occurs from the 25th week of the pregnancy

Dependencies

When you enter the respective dates from the MAT B1 form in the fields Notification to ER, Certificate Date and Expctd Delivery Date, the dates for the following fields are automatically calculated by the system:

• Expctd Wk Confinmt
• Earliest Start Abs.
• Qualif Week Start
