Definition
In mass maintenance, "component" stands for a subdivision of an object type. That is to say, each object type is split up into one or more components. So-called attributes, describing the individual objects, are assigned to each component. The subdivision of an object type into components serves to group together the attributes of that object type. Components have a technical name and a descriptive, business name. This field contains the technical name.
Examples of components are:
- Component 'general data' of object type 'material'
- Component 'plant-specific data' of object type 'material'
- Component 'units' of object type 'material'
