Definition
In mass maintenance, "attribute" denotes a property of an object (e.g. a field in a table or an element in a data structure). Attributes have a technical and a descriptive, business name. This field contains the technical name.
Attributes comprise simple properties of objects in the same way as keys (that serve to uniquely identify the object). Generally, keys in mass maintenance cannot be changed. Certain properties can also be non-changeable.
Examples of attributes are:
- Attribute "material number" for the object "material" (key)
- Attribute "weight" for the object "material" (changeable property)
- Attribute "last changed on" for the object "customer master" (non- changeable property)
