Definition
Internal, technical key of a Business Object in the Business Object Repository (BOR).
Business Objects in the BOR are identified by an object type (such as BUS2032) and by a descriptive English name (such as SalesOrder). Both of these designations must be unique across all object types.
Business Objects are frequently addressed from external applications by their descriptive names. Internally in the BOR, they are generally addressed by their object type. Initially only the internal key was used but due to the increased use of Business Objects, there was a request to address them by their names. For compatibility reasons, both designations are now used.
The object type may have a maximum of 10 characters.
