Documentation

Definition

Specifies how a learner's progress to date is handled when a course is updated by the author and a new version exists.

Use

The following procedure can be used for learning progress:

is retained

When the learner works on the new version of a course, progress made to date is retained. This makes sense if the changes to the course are formal changes, such as corrections to spelling.

is deleted

Progress made on the course to date is deleted. This would make sense in the following cases:

  • The new version contains new content, such as legal changes.
  • The new version contains structural changes that affect the course navigation.
  • The new version is fee-paying.

Note:

The completion time to date and the access counter data is retained even when progress data is deleted.
