Base URL for Content Display
Use
Media objects in WBTs are accessed directly from the learner's browser. If their addresses are relative, they must be expanded at runtime to full URLs so that the media objects can be called from the correct Content Management System.
If the base URL specified is itself relative, it is interpreted as relative to the Address of the Content Player and media objects are the accessed via the Content Player.
The default entry in this field is "media". In normal circumstances, it should not be changed.
Alternatively, you can specify an absolute URL as the base URL. In this case, objects are called directly from the system specified in the base URL.
Note
The addresses of media objects may be virtual, logical addresses that must be converted into real addresses at runtime depending upon the context. This happens automatically if you do not change the default entry. If the default entry is changed, you must ensure that the conversion is performed correctly.
Changing the default entry can also lead to security problems, which may prevent correct display and execution of the WBTs (keyword: "cross-frame security").
You should only change the default entry if you are certain that such problems cannot arise in your system landscape.
