Documentation
Definition
The priority of a rule determines which rule in a policy is applied if more than one rule in a policy fulfills all specified conditions. In such a case, the rule with the highest priority is applied. If you do not specify a priority, the lowest priority # 0 # is assigned. If there are multiple valid rules in a policy with the highest priority, all of the rules are selected. In the end, the IRM selects from the applicable rules the one with the latest retention date. Ultimately only this rule is applied.

Example
A valid rule with priority 20 would only be selected for application if there is no rule in that policy with a higher priority (for example 30).
