Definition

The policy category determines the structure of the ILM rules of an ILM object according to its application purpose. SAP supplies the following policy categories:

• Retention rules:
  Contain specifications for determining the minimum and maximum retention period: Minimum or maximum duration and time reference with an optional time offset
• Residence rules:
  Contain specifications for determining the residence time: Residence duration and time reference with optional time offset
