Documentation
Definition
The ILM objects belonging to the Information Retention Manager (IRM) for various application are subject to different regulatory and organizational specifications.
In IRM, you can define the object groups to which you can freely assign ILM objects (transaction IRM_CUST_CSS). The scope of an object group refers to a combination of object category (for example, Business Suite) and policy category (retention rules, residence rules).
Use
You can assign ILM objects freely according to your specific requirements to exactly one object group that you have defined. For example, you can assign all ILM objects from the FI area to a corresponding object group.
You can also assign the IRM rule groups to an object group (transaction IRM_CUST_CSS) to get a context-related F4 help: In this way, you can establish a connection between rule groups and ILM objects so that the F4 help for the rule group in the result fields of a policy offers exactly those rule groups connected to the ILM object.
