Documentation
Definition
Name of a condition field registered for an ILM object. You can use this type of field to determine the valid rules for each instance of an object.
Use
In the context of Customizing for an ILM object (#Available Condition Fields# view), you specify which condition fields the ILM object provides for its policies.
- When you create a policy (#Selected Condition Fields# view) using transaction IRMPOL, you can select a subset from the available condition fields.
- In rule maintenance, you can enter conditions suitable for the rules of selected condition fields in a policy; see also Rule Position.
For example, you want a rule to be dependent on a document type and a country, the values for which can be derived from the data of an object instance. To do so, define the field names DOCTYPE and COUNTRY. You can assign any syntactically-permissible structure name.
Dependencies
In a separate column, you must enter a data element describing each condition field. (The alternative specification of a data type is not currently supported in all scenarios.)
In object category-specific Customizing (Value Determination for Conditions Fields Dialog...), you must define how you want to determine the value of a condition field at runtime.
