Definition

Used to make a distinction between different amounts of money or time units that are included in various ways in the calculation of employee remuneration.

Use

In the R/3 System, wage types enable you to separate amounts or time units that are used for different business purposes and processed in different ways by the system during a payroll run.

Dependencies

Example

Supplementary Documentation - LGART 0000

Use

Enter the wage type which is to be used as the basis for payments to the payee specified in the infotype record.

Examples

  • Union dues

Supplementary Documentation - LGART 0002

Use

You can enter a wage type for the leave type being compensated in
this field.
The wage type can be used in payroll accounting.

Supplementary Documentation - LGART 0003

Use

This field is not used in the standard System.

You can enter attendance times with or without a wage type. Attendance times with a wage type are evaluated directly in payroll accounting if the relevant function (P2002) is queried.

Note:

Attendances with a wage type are not evaluated by the time evaluation program.

Supplementary Documentation - LGART 0004

Procedure

Enter the wage type with which you want to valuate the absence.

If necessary, check that the required wage type is coded correctly in Customizing for a valuation according to an average value, or a constant valuation.

Supplementary Documentation - LGART 0005

Use

You can use a wage type to store the capping differences that are created by setting a fixed value to which balances are compared.

Procedure

Examples

At the end of the month, the flextime balance must be no greater than 5. If an employee works longer hours, they are transferred to an overtime wage type.

Please specify the appropriate overtime wage type.

A primary wage type may be selected to distinguish between pension results when an employee has more than one valid pension plan in a period.

In this field, choose the relevant primary wage type used to store the employee's contribution amount to the pension plan.

Note: An entry in this field is non-mandatory. You should only choose a primary wage type in this field if both of the following conditions are valid:

  • The employee contributes to more than one pension plan and
  • The employee would like to list each pension contribution amount separately.

Use

If you enter '**nn' instead of a wage type, all wage types with the print indicator 'nn' in evaluation class 02 of table T512W (Wage Type Valuation) are printed in the specified window.

The entry '****' indicates that all wage types without the entry '00' (= print suppression) in evaluation class 02 of table T512W are printed. This print indicator can be overridden by an explicit table entry with this wage type in T512E.

Procedure

Example

Dependencies

Supplementary Documentation - LGART 1007

Use

The cumulation wage type field is used to display wage types in summarized form. The wage type of internal table ZRT is displayed in which the wage types have been summarized.

This cumulation wage type can be used for two main purposes: to cumulate several wage types, and to summarize a wage type into a total if splits occur. With regard to the latter option, please leave WINDO, GROUP etc. empty if you only want to summarize the wage type and do not want to assign it to a window.

Cumulation wage types can be printed both in windows and at fixed positions. If WINDO, GROUP etc. and SLART are specified for an entry, the wage type is displayed in the specified window and cumulated in the specified cumulation wage type.
