Use

Procedure

If you enter a weight, you must enter the corresponding weight unit here.

Examples

Dependencies

In the sales view, the weight unit is a required entry field because it is copied to sales orders for the material. It cannot be changed in the sales order.

Use

Procedure

All of the weights in the warehouse will be managed using the weight unit you enter here. In the case of goods movements, the material weight is converted to this weight unit and stored in the bins.
The capacity check by weight is also carried out using this unit. The maximum level of accuracy is 1/1000 of this weight unit.

You should not change the weight unit in a live system because all weights refer to this unit and would therefore become incorrect if it were changed. If you need to make a change to the weight unit, you have to use report RLS10200 to correct existing data.

Examples

If you choose a weight unit that is too small, there is a risk of field overflows for 'heavy' materials and totals analyses.

If you choose a weight unit that is to large, this can lead to errors in rounding. In particular for capacity checks according to weight, this can lead to problems with 'light' materials.
