Definition
You set the hierarchy display for the current column. Therefore, the hierarchy appears for the current dimension as displayed here:
Top Node Step 1
|
|
--- Node 1 Step 2
| |
| |
| ---- Subnode 1 Step 3
| |
| ---- Subnode 2 Step 3
| |
| ---- Subnode 3 Step 3
|
|
|
--- Node 2 Step 2
|
|
---- Subnode 4 Step 3
The system sets the maximum number of steps (here, 3) and numbers the hierarchy levels from the top node on down. Numbering begins with 0. In this example, subnodes 1 through 4 are hierarchy level 0, nodes 1 and 2 are level 1, and the top node is level 2. These levels appear inthe display column with the corresponding number of asterisks (*). If level n is greater than or equal to 4, the display shows "n*".
Because the hierarchy appears from the bottom up, this results in the following display:
Subnode 1
Subnode 2
Subnode 3
* Node 1
Subnode 4
* Node 2
** Top Node
