Definition
Conversion factor that is used to convert sales quantity units into BOM list units for a product allocation quantity check.
The factor gives the relationship between the product allocation quantity entered in sales quantity units and the quantity of a BOM list component, that is needed for a restricted component.
It can be used in the following situation, for example: If a single component of a certain product is used for product allocation, then the main product (which is specified for the restricted component) is assigned a determination procedure. If more than one of the restricted components are required for the creation of a main item, then this is reflected by the conversion factor.
Example
Main item ordered: Material: ABC Quantity: 10 PC
BOM list quantity
BOM list: ABC-01 1 PC
ABC-02 1 PC
ABC-03 2 PC <- Product allocation item
In this case, a product allocation procedure with conversion factor 2 is assigned to material ABC. This procedure corresponds to component ABC-03 (the restricted component, which is currently on allocation).
Because two pieces of ABC-03 are needed to create one main item ABC, the product allocation procedure has conversion factor 2. In the example, product allocation would be checked for 20 pieces (order quantity 10 x conversion factor 2).
