Definition

You use the collateral category to make a distinction between tangible collateral and personal collateral.

The following restrictions apply to tangible collateral:

  • In counterparty risk, no secondary risk display is transferred to a tangible collateral item. This is because it does not represent a transfer of risk to the provider of the collateral. This also applies if the provider of the collateral is stored in the collateral item itself.
  • In country risk, you have to specify the provider of the collateral in the tangible collateral item. In doing so, it is then possible to specify transaction characteristics in the collateral item.
