Definition
Here you decide whether the system is to determine credit risks or settlement risks using this determination procedure. Each determination procedure may be assigned only one risk category.
Credit risk means the danger that the business partner will not fulfill the obligations specified in the contract during the term of a transaction. The concept of credit risk refers to the classic loan transaction, as well as to counterparty risks from the trading book.
Settlement risk arises in the case of transactions involving capital swaps, for example, forward exchange transactions, forward security transactions and swaps. It refers to the danger that the business partner will not fulfill the obligations specified in the contract when the swap is carried out.
