Definition
The selection filter is a call-up parameter that can be used in end-of-day processing. End-of-day processing assigns a suitable selection filter to the transaction on the basis of the transaction's properties. The possible values of a selection filter are supplied to Limit Management in end-of-day processing, and are used to control how risk is displayed in the information for each transaction.
If you store a selection filter in a limit type, a transaction is only included if this selection filter matches at least one selection filter for the transaction. If the end-of-day processing-run is unable to assign any filters to a transaction, then there is no filter-effect, meaning the transaction is included, but without taking into account the filters stored in the limit types.
In Customizing, you are able to (and it is only helpful to) enter restrictions for the lower limit only for the values that are permitted for primary risk/secondary risk and counterparty/issuer risk of a selection filter.
