Documentation

Definition

The key date is the date back from which the retention period is calculated.
The date so determined is the date of the last change in the documents for which you can still set deletion indicators.

You can use the key date to carry out a test run a few days later, using the same criteria as for the production run.

Further notes

The key date must not be in the future.

Example

You enter 10/08/YY as the key date. The retention period is three months. You start the run for setting deletion indicators on the 10/15/YY.

Documents last changed before 07/01/YY are flagged for deletion and can be archived after the run.
If you did not specify a key date, the system would set the deletion indicator for all documents last changed longer ago than 10/15/YY.
