Definition
The assignment of a geographical unit to a carrier route can either be inclusive or exclusive.
Inclusive means that the geographical unit is contained in the carrier route.
Exclusive means that the geographical unit is cut out of the carrier route.
Use
It is only possible to make a distinction between an inclusive and an exclusive assignment in the assignment between carrier routes and geographical units. All other assignments can only be inclusive.
Inclusive assignments are the norm. Exclusive assignments can be used in order to carry out ad hoc changes that do not apply to the present structural limits without having to carry out major restructuring of the carrier routes.
Example
Carrier route 1 ------ Geo.unit 1 ------ Postal code 81678
------ Geo.unit 2 ------ 1 Mozart Street - 100
'Main Street' is located in postal code 81678. However, the street is not to be delivered using carrier route 1 for a certain period. However, this street is not defined as an independent element in the previous streets.
For this reason, a new geographical unit 'Geo.unit 3' is defined for 'Main Street' and separated 'exclusively' from carrier route1.
