Documentation

Definition

Wage type is the most important control concept in payroll. It has a large number of special characteristics related to legal and procedural matters.

Supplementary Documentation - JLGAR 0001

Use

If you want to determine the retroactive adjustment of each individual average basis for all or some of your employees when one or several standard pay increases are effected, you must specify a wage type in this field. You must also use this wage type to include each individual increase percentage in the payroll run (and payroll account) for those payroll periods which are affected by the standard pay increase.

Depending on whether you enter data in the "Number", "Rate", or "Amount" field for this wage type, the "Number", "Rate", or "Amount" field is also modified for the average basis that needs to be adjusted.

Supplementary Documentation - JLGAR 0002

Use

Specify a wage type here if you want to retroactively adjust the average bases for your employees. This makes it possible to override the adjustment rule.

Using this wage type, assign your employee an individual percentage (usually a percentage rise) in the payroll period in which the average bases change becomes effective. Enter the percentage in the wage type amount field in the master data ('105' represents a 5% rise and '95' a 5% reduction).
