Definition
A geographical hierarchy variant for statistics is a hierarchy tree from the geographical distribution structures in Media Sales and Distribution frozen as of a key date.
The hierarchy variant is defined by the key date on which it was frozen and the highest-level geographical unit which is the root of the hierarchy tree.
You can create as many geographical hierarchy variants as you wish with the same root for different key dates. (For example, 'USA on 1.1.1998', 'USA on 1.1.1999' and so on.) The root itself and the geographical units below it are contained in the hierarchy tree as composed on the key date.
You will normally only need to generate a geographical hierarchy variant for a main geographical unit for a set date in the system.
Maintaining geographical hierarchy variants for statistics
The following 2 reports can be used to maintain geographical hierarchy variants:
- RJKSTF00 - Create Geographical Hierarchy Variant
- RJKSTF10 - Delete Geographical Hierarchy Variant
Use
The geographical hierarchy variant is used in evaluation and statistics reports to check address assignments to geographical structures.
