Documentation

You use this field to control which opportunity interest rate the system uses to calculate the net interest margin in ALM. You can choose from the following options:

  • External key figure

The external key figure is store in the financial object.

  • Using the opportunity interest rate calculated in Profitability Analysis

For accounts, variable transactions, loans, and money market transactions you can use the opportunity interest rate that is calculated during costing in Profitability Analysis. This opportunity interest rate is based on the nominal interest rate. If you want to use the opportunity interest rate that is calculated in Profitability Analysis, then you need to make sure that in the Profitability Analysis Customizing for fixed costing procedures, the field Nom. OI Determ. (ALM) contains the value 1 Calculate.

  • Average from the yield curve in the calculation rule or from the yield curve in the evaluation type

For accounts and variable transactions, the opportunity interest rate can be calculated from the information from the due date scenario. If the due date scenario contains a subincrement, then the opportunity interest rate is calculated as a floating average. If not, then it is calculated as a simple average by means of the simulated maturities.

If no value is entered in the OI Determination field, then the opportunity interest rate is the same as the product interest rate. This is the default setting.
