Documentation
Definition
Indicator that specifies the class of packaging.
Input values
Sales packaging is open or closed containers and wrappings in direct contact with the goods (such as yogurt containers, toothpaste tubes, chocolate bar wrappers, and beverage cans). A sales packaging can always be assigned to an article.
Consumed packaging is transport packaging that protects the goods enroute from the manufacturer to the merchant's (such as shrink film, sacks, pallets, cartons, and foamed plastic inserts).
Consumed packaging often can no longer be assigned to an article. The quantity flows are not determined from numbers of sales, but via warehouse comsumption, that is, material movements (for example, the wrapping film around a "mixed pallet" in a distribution center).
Model packaging is REA packaging that is referenced in the packaging master by other REA packaging. When model packaging is modified, all of its properties are transferred to the referencing packaging.
The referencing packaging itself cannot be modified.
