Documentation
Definition
Sales tax amount in document currency.
Use
The amount is combined with other data (such as the tax code and the tax base amount) to form the basis for automatic sales tax postings and therefore also the basis for tax returns for sales tax.
Procedure
In document entry, you must specify the tax amount if known. If tax is distributed among several document items with the same tax code, you can specify the total tax amount for one of these items.
In the case of down payments, you must specify the tax amount for each item.
If you know the tax code but not the tax amount, position the cursor on the first document item and choose 'Calculate Tax'. The system then calculates the tax amount.
