Definition

Specifies the tax rate for the Brazilian taxes listed below.

Dependencies

Tax rates are defined in Customizing for Financial Accounting, under Financial Accounting Global Settings -> Tax on Sales/Purchases -> Calculation -> Settings for Tax Calculation in Brazil -> Tax Rates. The rates are defined for a certain factor or combination of factors. For each tax below, the first point represents the factor(s) for which tax rates are maintained in the standard case, while the second includes those for material-dependent exceptions:

  • ICMS
    • Ship-from tax region -- ship-to tax region
    • Ship-from tax region -- ship-to tax region -- material
  • IPI
    • NCM code
    • Material

Note that in the case of IPI pauta, the tax rate must be entered in the Rate/Unit field in Customizing.

  • Substituição tributária (SubTrib)
    • Ship-from tax region -- ship-to tax region
    • Ship-from tax region -- ship-to tax region -- material
  • ISS
    • Material

For each of the above taxes, you can also define dynamic exceptions for the tax rates, which allows you to define up to three key fields to define exceptions. In addition, default rates can be maintained for each tax (except for SubTrib), which the system uses if it cannot find the rate according to the factors listed above.
