Definition

Creates and posts inflation adjustment documents online instead of generating a batch input session.

This feature only applies when you run the report in update mode.

Procedure

This feature is particularly useful for accounts that you adjust using the line item method.

Irrespective of whether you select this indicator, in the line item method, the system updates each item's last adjustment date online, before you process the batch input session.

If you then fail to process the batch input session, for whatever reason, the items' last adjustment date will have been updated even though the inflation adjustment documents have not been posted.

By selecting this indicator, therefore, you can prevent this scenario from occurring.

Dependencies

If you set this indicator, the system response depends on the run type:

  • Definitive runs

    The system adjusts all the line items online.

  • Provisional runs

    As with definitive runs, the system adjusts all the line items online. However, it still creates a batch input session with the reverse postings.
