Documentation
Definition
Value that you must assign each material that is relevant for replacement cost valuation.
Procedure
In most cases, you define a material inflation class for each of your valuation areas. For each material inflation class, you specify the following:
- Revaluation method
- Inflation index
- Time base and exposure to inflation variant (TBE variant)
- Price tolerance
You can also define any of these values directly in the material master record. When you run the replacement-cost valuation programs for a material, this value then overrides the value defined in the material's inflation class.
Examples
Dependencies
If you have not yet defined your material inflation classes, you can do so in Customizing for Materials Management (MM), by choosing Valuation and Account Assignment -> Balance Sheet Valuation Procedures -> Configure Replacement Cost Procedure (Inflation) -> Maintain Material Inflation Classes.
