Documentation
Definition
Specifies whether an information object is to be excluded from translation or not.
Use
You set this indicator if you want to prevent an info object being included in the translation worklist after the object has been released.
This is useful if the content of the information object is relevant only to those countries where the language the object was created in is spoken. For example in payroll or in industry sectors subject to strict regulations from the state (for instance health care, aviation.)
You can change the indicator setting at any time. An object that was originally excluded from translation can later be included in the translation worklist, and vice versa.
Dependencies
This indicator functions independently of the translation-relevant prompt, which is used for changes to an existing information object. The differences between the two mechanisms are described below:
- Indicator "No Translation": This indicator fundamentally excludes an information object from translation. You will not see any information objects flagged with this indicator in the translation worklist.
- Translation-relevant indicator: This prompt is for cases in which by exception a change to an information object in the source language does not require a change to the information object in the target languages (for example, when spelling mistakes in the source language are corrected).
